Dizziness and Vertigo Clinic in Oran Park
Sydney Dizziness Clinic consults from Oran Park Medical Centre, serving patients across the Macarthur and south-west Sydney corridor. Consultations are led by a vestibular medicine doctor. Assessment, discussion of the findings and a management plan are handled within the clinic.
What happens at your appointment
1. A detailed history
Time is spent on how the dizziness behaves — what triggers it, how long each episode lasts, and what else happens alongside it. The history is a central part of the assessment.
2. Vestibular and neurological examination
Eye-movement testing, positional testing, balance and gait assessment, and a focused neurological examination.
3. Vestibular function testing
Recorded testing is arranged where it is clinically indicated, rather than routinely.
4. A management plan and a report
The findings and options are explained to you, and a written report is sent to your referring doctor. A standard assessment is usually completed across two appointments.
A cause is not identified in every case, and the benefit obtained from treatment varies between individuals.
